Safety and Regulation

Release date:2024-11-04 Update date:2024-11-22
Visitor Guidelines
  • The surrounding area of the garden is a well-preserved forest, which means that large wild animals may roam within the area, as well as poisonous creatures such as bees, snakes, and catfish. For the safety of your pets and to avoid potential infections between wild animals and pets, bringing pets into the park is prohibited.

  • To prevent wild animals from scavenging through trash, there are no trash bins provided within the park, nor are meals offered. We welcome you to bring light snacks to enjoy in nature, but please do not feed wild animals and remember to take your trash back down with you.

Friendly Reminders
  • The Fushan Research Center, aside from the botanical garden exhibition area and the nature center, has restricted access to other areas, and visitors are not allowed to enter. The entrance and exit to the Fushan Botanical Garden is located along Provincial Highway 7 Ding in Yuanshan Township, Yilan County.(See map below)

  • To minimize environmental disturbance, the park has a total visitor limit. Please remember to complete the online entry application process and only head out after receiving the approval notification.

  • Don’t forget to bring an original photo ID (children should carry a health insurance card or a copy of the household register) for verification by park staff.

  • The park is located at an elevation of about 600 meters. Access roads are only suitable for vehicles with less than 9 seats. Be reminded that mountain roads can be foggy and occasionally have animals crossing; please drive slowly and carefully. Bring warm clothing and rain gear to avoid getting cold.

  • Due to its mountainous and rainy location, the park’s trails are primarily gravel and are not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. There are no accessible facilities except around the aquatic plant pond and near the nature center. If visiting with young children, it is recommended to use a carrier.

  • Fushan Botanical Garden is home to wildlife, and visitor hours are from 9 AM to 4 PM. Please finish your visit by 3:50 PM to allow the wildlife a comfortable space to move and forage.

  • The park has volunteer guides who provide pre-visit explanations for all visitors. Due to staffing limitations, guided tours cannot be reserved. You can watch an introductory video at the nature center or download brochures and worksheets from the park's website to enhance your visit experience.
